Style Crush

I feel like she gets a lot of shit for not acting or dressing her age, but personally I think Taylor Momsen is gorgeous. I wish I had the guts (and body) to wear some of her outfits. I think they're a nice mix of classy and edgy. They do tend to be on the short side, and some of them are a little risque, but they look great on her. Be honest, who doesn't love a nice leather jacket or pair of fish nets?

What do you all think of Taylor?

90s-tastic!

Dress: thrifted
Boots: Blanco
Socks: Target

Saturday night I went to a 90s party and it was fantastic.
I couldn't afford to buy anything new, so I had to rummage through my closet and find something. All of my friends were going for the bright colors and pop-like style, like the Fresh Prince and the Spice Girls. I decided to go more for the grunge look with ripped up fishnets and short dresses.
What do you think?

School has begun again and I am completely overwhelmed. Between classes and work and catching up with everyone, I'm surprised I was even able to get dressed this week!
Honestly, though, life is great. There is only one thing that would make it better, and that is warm weather! I am so sick of this cold!

Check out this old band. :)

I'm going out shopping today. :)
I probably won't be buying much of anything, except maybe perfume. I've been looking for a good one.

Yesterday I spent a lovely afternoon with my younger sister, Emily. We went thrifting, where we both made some great purchases, and then to the movies where we saw How Do You Know with Owen Wilson and Reese Witherspoon.

One item I purchases was this lovely, purple sweater. It's big, but I like it that way.

Resolutions.

2011 is a new year and along with it, I have a new shopping goal. No more shopping at typical retail stores. From here on out, I am sticking to thrifting, vintage, home-made, locally made, etc.

We'll see how it goes.
Wish me luck. :)

JEANS, JEANS, JEANS.

I never knew. Or, I feel like I've always subconsciously known that jeans weren't the best clothing item, but I never really thought about it because THEY'RE EVERYWHERE.

This link will provide the more insight than I can, but I'll give you a brief overview.

The most apparent problem is the dye within the jeans. It's turning beautiful, natural rivers into blue nightmares as well as polluting the farmland along the banks.

Brief solution:
Look into a brand before you purchase.
Only wash them when necessary; it is not unsanitary to wear them more than once between cycles!
